Hi! I'm Dr. Crystal Alexander the president of C.H.O.S.E.N. Journey and the proud business owner of APlus Lifestyle Wellness & Med Spa. I'm a wife, a mom of three, and a certified family nurse practitioner. I received my Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from Jefferson College of Health Sciences. My Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) in the Family Nurse Practitioner track and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) in the Healthcare Systems Leadership track were both received from Chamberlain University. I've always been passionate about giving back, teaching, motivating, and inspiring others to live healthy and fulfilling lives. Advocating and being a voice for the voiceless has always been my divine purpose. Growing up in a rural community and overcoming many adversities and challenges, there is no better time than now, and no one better than us to fulfill the mission of empowering and supporting rural communities.

My name is Samantha Easley. Born and raised in Naruna, VA. I have my Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology with an Emphasis in Deviance and Crime and my Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice Leadership. I’ve been married for 7 years and together we have 2 daughters, a 1 year old and a 8 year old. I’m a full time Government employee working within the Criminal Justice System. I’m also the Travel Business Owner of Making It Easy, LLC. I thoroughly enjoy helping others and take pride in my career. In my spare time I love to spend time with my family and loved ones. Making memories that will never be forgotten.

My name is Corlis Harris, and I am passionate about people! That passion has led to me learning how best to give back to my community by empowering people to be the best versions of themselves. I hold a BS in Business Administration, and professional certifications from the Society of Human Resource Management and the American Payroll Association. Previously, I held the position of Certification Director for the Human Resource Management Association of Greensboro. As the business owner of a consulting firm, Priority People and Payroll Services, I provide financial advice to small businesses. I am excited to transfer those skills to contribute as the treasurer for C.H.O.S.E.N. Journey!

Hi, I am Romesia! I am a wife, mom of 2 girls, and a dog mom of a Shizu and pitbull. I love spending time with family and friends, making every moment count! Along with that I take pride in implementing self-care along the way. I am a Social Work Supervisee in the State of Virginia. I have 9 years of experience working in the mental health field along with counseling. I received my Bachelor's of Social Work degree from Virginia State University and Masters’ Degree from Walden University. I take pride in being the extra push and support a person needs by providing an authentic approach, empathy, compassion, hands on help and resources.

Hello! My name is Amari-Yonna Hubbard and I am a board member of C.H.O.S.E.N. Journey and a third-year college student at North Carolina A&T (GHOE). After graduating, I aspire to attend medical school and pursue a career as a pediatrician. My passion for helping others goes beyond my chosen career path. Having grown up in an underserved community, I understand firsthand the challenges that youth face, including the lack of mentorship and opportunities to explore their potential. Through this organization, I’m committed to giving back to communities like the one I came from and helping to inspire and uplift the next generation. My goal is to create lasting and positive impacts on our youth by providing them with the support and guidance they need to reach their dreams. I’m excited about the incredible things we can achieve together through this organization and can’t wait to make a difference in the lives of those we serve.

Hello, my name is Amari-Ya Hubbard. I am a junior at the prestigious North Carolina A&T State University. I am pursuing a degree in Animal Science with the goal of becoming a veterinarian. Growing up in a rural community, I witnessed the challenges that small and minority communities face, particularly the lack of resources that often leads to young people being underserved and misguided. This experience has driven my passion for community upliftment, and I am honored to be part of C.H.O.S.E.N. Journey, an organization dedicated to empowering the youth and providing them with the tools and guidance they need to succeed. I am committed to serving as a role model and mentor, helping to steer the next generation toward brighter futures. It’s especially meaningful for me to work alongside my mother in building this organization to have a lasting impact in our communities. I look forward to fostering growth and creating a positive change.

I'm a wife, mom, and business owner of Designs where I specialize in event decor, custom apparel, and a wide range of other custom merchandise.
